Liquid Culture
I think LC is overrated! While the internet loves it, I often prefer other methods. However, it is undeniably a cool tool that I use when I'm refining a culture for rapid expansion across many jars.
The Reality of LC
While the internet loves Liquid Culture (LC), I find it a bit overrated. However, it's undeniably useful for rapidly inoculating large amounts of substrate.

- The Setup: You can use standard jars with unvented lids if you follow proper procedures.
- Access: Self-Healing Injection Ports (SHIPs) are your best friend here for sterile syringe access.
- Sterilization: Run in a PC or Instant Pot for 30–45 minutes.
Sugar & Verification
Use a 2–4% sugar source (Honey, LME, or Corn Sugar). Crucial Step: Always verify your LC on an agar plate before using it to inoculate valuable grain spawn. A cloudy LC isn't always healthy mycelium.
