Trial: White Button
Cloning Agaricus bisporus from store-bought grocery specimens.
Progress Log
Start Date: 5-16-2026
Method: Core tissue sample moved to No-Pour Agar (Custom Corn Sugar & Yeast mix).
Quantity: 3 distinct plates.
5-21-2026: Mycelium is active, but surprisingly, this is currently the **slowest growing** of the three species. We are seeing clean white growth from all three samples, but it is taking its time to establish.

6-1-2026 (Update): Steady progress. All three plates are showing healthy, clean white growth. They are still the slowest of the bunch, but they are consistently moving across the agar.

6-5-2026 (Update): Final check of the original clone plates. I chose the best-performing plate (Plate 1) and transferred it to 2 new agar plates for further expansion and cleanup.

New transfers from Plate 1 to two fresh agar plates (6-05-2026).
6-10-2026 (Update): The first generation of transfer plates is looking great. Both plates are showing healthy, clean growth with no signs of contamination. It's rewarding to see the culture establishing so well on the new agar.
Healthy, clean growth on both transfer plates (6-10-2026).
6-16-2026 (Update): The transfers are progressing perfectly. Both plates look clean with good, healthy growth. This clone is now well-established on our custom agar mix.
Vigorous, clean growth on the transfer plates (6-16-2026).
